| dc.description.abstract | With the effect of modernization in the last to hundred years we see that nowadays modern nations face the risk of losing their collective identity as a result of globalization. As a reflex of this, it is an undeniable fact that modern humankind pursues some myths to cling to the past. Sometimes with a museum, sometimes with a historical monument modern human being is in attempt to sacrifice history for the sake of his or her fantasy. At this point, a problem arises because of equalizing history and memory. History and memory are scrambled. My work analyzes the problematic of history and memory equalization within the framework of renocide notion, which means remember every time, not just once, through Armenian question and individual memory narrative. This study tackles the reflection of historical geography and social memory relations in Turkey and Armenia. | |
