Design of an information system for the administration of the university: |the office of student affairs, the registrar's office, the personnel office

Abstract

Information is one of the main inputs for any organization. After the computers were introduced; to gather, store, and process the information in a manner that will meet the formal information requirements of the managements have become one of the most important research areas. In this thesis, information systems are designed for the Office of Student Affairs, the Registrar's Office, and the Personnel Office at Boğaziçi University. First, these offices are analyzed and their problems while performing their tasks are studied. Then,the new procedures are developed for some of the tasks of these offices. Also, the files and the computer programs, which form a basis for an information system, are developed. Finally, the suggestions about the implementation phase are made.
