Abstract
This dissertation study is about the poems in ghazal form by Yaşar Nezihe included in her books entitled with Bir Deste Menekşe and Feryadlarım. It is targeted to reveal connections of odes written in 19th century when Divan literature tradition was not commonly followed with traditions of the periods in which it was strictly regarded. In this context, the study focuses on styles, themes and motifs of ghazals and bases Yaşar Nezihe's relation with tradition in terms of similarities qnd differences. It is asserted that this female poet who was unable to get a good education but created a tremendous impression with her poems published in the journals and books in her lifetime attained different ways of expression both being in compliance with the rules of Divan poetry and sometimes breaking the rules slightly.
