dc.description.abstractIn this thesis we will give a review of maximally symmetric spacetimes. There are only three of these spacetimes namely, Minkowski, de Sitter and anti-de Sitter spacetimes represented with zero, positive and negative cosmological constant respec tively. We will obtain metrics in various forms for each of these manifolds using our mathematical freedom of choosing different coordinate patches. This will lead us to different cosmological models for the same manifold.
